Cynicism and Pretentiousness

Vapid
There they stand
Pretty flowers,
Their mouths open to the ceiling.

Smile
A large red gash with,
Sharp white teeth.

Reflections
Eyes,
In the second,
Between imagination and attention,
In a Physics class.

Pretentious
Poetry without rhyme
Or punctuation

Magic
A smile that takes you in
And lets you know,
That nothing else matters.

Love
See ‘Pretentious’

Romance
A rush of blood to the heart,
Sweating palms, shaky smile…
Knock the fork off the table, onto his foot.

The Park
Spider lilies and lovers,
Tousled hair and tears,
A drowning lake without ripples.

Fear
He leaps down from the sunshade,
And when he lands safely,
You almost wish he hadn’t.

Feel
Tears, smiles,
Is anyone watching?
Guilt.

Cold
The pin gleams.
Pretty pin,
Pretty drops of red… on my finger,
As I drive it in.

Anger
Where’s all the attention,
I’m still acting well…
Why is no one here when I cry?

Letters
An arrow,
Sent with careful aim,
Bounces off the impregnable wall.
